About Me
For the past ten years, I’ve worked on making content clear and engaging. At FAI Wealth Management, I turned topics like estate planning and retirement income strategies into content that connected with people through email, social media, and live events. I built email campaigns in HubSpot, organized client dinners, and wrote eBooks about retirement strategies. Over time, I realized that good marketing is simply thoughtful communication.
In 2019, I joined the Navy Mutual Aid Association and have spent the last six years managing marketing for a nonprofit that serves military families. My role grew from handling event management and social media to overseeing a $1.5 million marketing budget, building partnerships, and working with cross-departmental teams in Sales, Compliance, and Education. I created event programs that brought in 6.6% of our monthly qualified leads, cut our cost-per-acquisition in half, and grew our Instagram following by 58%. I also launched our TikTok and YouTube channels, negotiated contracts that saved 25% on agency costs, and built tools like content calendars and reporting dashboards to make our campaigns more consistent and scalable.
Over the past few years, my focus has shifted. As I worked on campaigns and events, I became more interested in the overall experience—not just our message, but how people interacted with everything we created. I started asking questions like, "Is our website easy to use?" Why do people leave our email funnels? What is it like to visit our event booths? These questions led me to UX design. In 2023, I began a Master's program at the University of Baltimore to build on what I had already been doing. Now, I’m making prototypes, doing user research, and learning to design digital products with the same audience-first mindset I used in marketing. This isn’t a career change; it’s a natural next step. My work has always been about developing connections, and now I’m learning to do that in new ways.
Whether I’m planning a marketing campaign, running an event, or designing an app, my main goal is to create experiences that are easy to use, trustworthy, and valuable. This focus shapes how I work, and I’m excited to keep growing in this area.

Beyond Work
I'm motivated by work that actually matters, which is why I've spent my career in mission-driven organizations and am now exploring how design can create more accessible experiences for refugees and neurodivergent communities. I'm endlessly curious, which is probably why I went back for a Master's degree while working full-time, not because I needed another credential, but because I genuinely want to understand how human-centered design principles can make digital experiences better for everyone.
Outside of work and coursework, I prioritize wellness and balance because I've learned that the best thinking doesn't happen when you're running on empty. Whether that's through movement, time outdoors, or simply protecting space to recharge, I believe creativity and strategic problem-solving require intentional rest. I'm also always reading about behavioral psychology, design trends, marketing innovation, or, honestly, just good storytelling. I love understanding why things work the way they do, whether that's why a particular campaign resonated or why a certain interface feels more intuitive than another.
